It is the Tao of vicissitudes
traversing each passing now,
surviving the gallows of time
with a birth rewarded
for sin and whiling crime.
Looking at days and nights
Being here, being me,
I see moments
wrestling to woo monotony.
Divinity, ashamed of banal run
Time too busy for greater fun
Birth is lurking for worthy plan.
‘Arbitrary’, the God of Unfaith
has time, guts and ease
to be the Lord of this siege.
I am working in the lower house of Indian Parliament. With a background in academic philosophy and an opportunity to watch ‘democracy at work’ in the legislature of world’s largest electorate, my ‘philosopher’s conscience’ is often pulled apart by my academic/ theoretical training and the complexities of governance. But thankfully there are good libraries around, where I can escape into the pleasure of reading and furtively look for the answers .
